The accounting firm chasing documents.

8 September 2026 · Hypothetical pattern, real prices · 3 min read

What this is: one ordinary business, three steps — the routine it runs today, the build that replaces it, the month the build pays for itself. A pattern, not a case study about one lucky client. If your business looks like this one, the shape transfers.

01 · The routine today

Every month: email 30 clients asking for receipts and statements, then chase the 12 who didn't answer, then re-type PDFs into the system. The chasing is ~10 min per silent client, the retyping ~15 min per client. Call it €900/mo of skilled-people-doing-clerical-work.

02 · The build

A document intake page per client + an automation that checks what arrived, nudges the missing ones on a schedule, and files what came in into the right folder, named right. The €390 bot tier. Delivered as your code, in your repo — the folder structure and naming rules are yours to change on a Tuesday afternoon if you want.

03 · The crossover month

Month 1 — this is the closest to pure profit of anything in the series, because clerical work at accounting wages is the most expensive clerical work there is.
